Heatwave

Uncategorized

Never a truer word than a quote from a Noel Coward song “Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid-day sun.”
The current heat wave has affected not only people but also man’s best friend. Many WitsEnd clients have come in saying their pooch doesn’t know what to do with itself. Our clients have been varying their walks with the weather – shorter walks when it has been very hot and longer walks when cooler. Walking the dog first thing in the morning and last thing at night is a very sensible option. Access to water is essential at all times and keeping dogs in the shade can help. Some people sprinkle their dog with water, others use paddling pools, or like Henry in the picture, a cool damp towel draped over the body. One client has invested in a cool coat for their dog and cool mats are also available. And remember, don’t leave your dog in the car!
But do try to enjoy the lovely weather, it’s never here for long.
